Sounds like what I do

My children have their names on their pencils -- I used a Sharpie pen. When they need their pencil sharpened, they just put it in a can by the pencil sharpener. Then, either I or my aide sharpens them while the children are at recess or after school. There is also a can with sharpened pencils that they can use until theirs gets sharpened. My pencils have "Kindergarten" written on them, so they are easy to distinguish from the children's pencils. Easy management for me and simple for my Kindergarteners.
