i am not laughing inside. i think that in some cases we as teachers just "expect" that students of any age know what to do. many times it depends upon the teacher they came from, but most times, the transition from 2nd to 3rd is big. they need to change their habits from "visiting their neighbors" to sitting and learning appropriately.

just take it in stride and take many deep breaths. you have to "train" them into doing the right thing.

hang in there, you'll do fine!
