re: Independent reading activities

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi,
I have my third graders write book recomendations after they have finished reading a book. We have a format that we use that goes something like this..."I would/would not recommend this book because..." They have to list three reasons why they would or would not recommend their book to a friend. I modeled this and had the kids practice with me first.

Scholastic also makes a good book with indpenedent reading graphic orgainzers. I've started using a few of those, but plan on introducing more.
