Vocabulary development
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi all,
The best way to increase vocabulary is to read, read, read. In addition to your read aloud at least once daily, your students should be reading all through the day. If you go to IRA and NCTE there have been some articles written on graphic organizers, etc. The 'word or words' a day will not introduce your students to the sheer quantity that reading will...Also, revisit your spelling program to be sure you're including word study for prefixes, suffixes, base words, derivations,etc...Best of luck. ;-D
