Be honest. Think of words or phrases that you could use before hand that won't hurt the parents' feelings, but will get the message across. Let the parents speak first. Always ask if they have any concerns about their child first. Talk with them like you have talked to us. Tell them that you didn't know what to do. I have found that parents are more appreciative when I am honest with them. Their daughter needs help from all of you, and you need to express that in the best way possible.
