I don't know the ages of your children, but why can't they help? Some Saturdays, I line everyone up and tell them to go clean something for 30 mins. (Mine are 13, 15, and 42) If they stand around too long with a blank look, then I give them an assignment, although the real point of this is to have everyone be self directed. My husband needed the most help, but it sure helped me not feel so resentful by late Sat. afternoon when I would normally have been still cleaning alone.
