Well, do you absolutly need this room mom? I think it would be rude just to say, we don't need you anymore, I'm going to do this on my own, but you could say, "I would love to give the children a chance at planning party's because I feel they would love the oppurtunity" or something like that. Then have them discuss together games, crafts, food,decorations etc. for the party. Maybe the mom will understand if it deals with the students planning it. Afterall, it is the student's party...not hers!
