Loan Forgiveness
By StephR

Clip to ScrapBook
Some loans, like the federal stafford and the perkins loan, can be defered and/or forgiven by working in a low performing school. In the case of the Perkins Loan, each year, for 5 years, the loan is forgiven a certian percentage...leading eventually to 100% forgiveness...meaning you don't have to pay it back at all! The Stafford has some other guidelines (which I am currently looking into), but part of that loan can also be forgiven. Call your lender and see what Teacher programs they currently have. That's what I did.
