First off, a couple of things. ADHD is split into two parts. There is the hyperactive component (ADHD) and the attention component (ADD). They are both generally put under ADHD but are two seperate things. Usually they are both present at different levels. "If a child can behave one day (in your case after a bad day) he or she can do it any time, they are just choosing not to. "
