I had a counselor tell it to me this way: There is no common sense except what you teach them. Boy, was she right. It is a developmental thing, they have to be taught to think. Many students are still in that ME stage. I can't even assume that because I told one student to sit down that the others will internalize and think, oh I guess that means me, too.

I know how frustrating it can be. Somedays you wonder, you laugh to yourself, and sometimes you just can't help to laugh out loud!
