frogs
By kathy

Clip to ScrapBook
It's a lot of fun to read the book, Jump, Frog Jump!by Byron Barton, I think, and then follow up with a measurement activity using non standard measurement units (blocks, books, etc.)to measure how far they can jump like frogs. Be careful to avoid making it a jumping contest so that everyone has fun no matter how far they jump. This works best in small groups.
An extension activity might be to keep track of all the jumps in a group and use counters to add their jumps together. Good counting practice!
