Student teachers do not get paid; they are college students not on payroll. For my 90 days of student teaching, if I had got 65 dollars a day, I would be able to buy a brand new car. The sponsoring teacher gets paid while the student teacher does the work. Substitute employment pays, is much better than student teaching, and prepares one much better to pass a job interview. Student Teaching is just a certification requirement; it is part of your schooling. If it does not pay in Texas, it probably does not pay in MO either.
