Seven years ago I moved to third grade after 7 years teaching 5th grade. This was the best move for me. I totally love it. Students are still sweet and accepting of everything you say or do. They can work independently for the most part. That first year I had a "huggy" bunch and didn't know what to make of all the hugs I got, but I found it enjoyed it. Our curriculum in third grade has always been similar to 5th, just easier. This made my switch easier. I teach all science. Make the move and enjoy!
