K and Pre-K

I teach Kindergarten and I am the only teacher in the room because we are such a small school. However, when I subbed in the city, I never liked doing Kindergarten because of the way it was set up. There were two teachers in the room, morning and afternoon. Whichever I was subbing for, I got to be the lead teacher and the other was the assistant. I'm not too sure about pre-K though, but maybe they feel because they know the routine and the children know them, it is better for you to just be the assistant.
