It is with incredible sadness I contemplate retirement soon. My husband retired last summer and is expecting me to retire at the end of this year. There are things about teaching I don't like: taking papers home to check, day after day when we can't play outside, NCLB when it seems an impossible task, etc. However, there is a long list of things I like - visits, e-mails, announcements from former students, seeing former students all over town succeeding as adults, seeing positive changes in my students, and on and on. I truly believe no job is more important.
