Instead of going to the principal, why don't you discuss it with the teacher first. If know one talks to her, then maybe she doesn't see a problem with it.

I personally don't agree with writing as a punishment. THen they hate to write.

Maybe she has her own justification for doing it. On the flip side, if she has been doing this for two months, have you seen the behavior in your daughter change for the better? Is she still mischevious? I would like to see how well her class behaves knowing this is a consequense.
