I have a big cactus(es)and a cowboy throwing a rope. Inside the loop are book covers. It says: The Reading Posse is Rounding Up Good Books!

Then for the writing idea, I brought in some old beatup cowboy boots (I mean really old and really beatup). I put these in a center as story starters, after telling the students I had found them on the side of the road. They work good for R.A.F.T. Writing. The kids sign all their papers that we display: The Writing Posse.

The ideas with a western theme are limitless.
