Social skills class
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
I think that's exactly what's lacking - counselors come in only twice a week. No one would consider teaching students math "twice a week" and expect them to excel. If we want out kids to excel in their social skills, I'm suggesting that it should be daily a class in another classroom and that a certified teacher/counselor teach social skills full time. We have art rooms and music rooms... why not a social skills room????
Counselors are wonderful for dealing with individual students' specific issues....but they can only do so much to reach the whole campus consistantly.
