taking down decorations

I have always taken mine down on New Year's Day. I hate seeing Christmas decorations sitting around like stale and moldy bread until as late as January 10 (or even later) as some people do. It just seems so tacky to me. This year, I have postponed the task. I lay around all day yesterday with food poisoning from a buffet I ate at, and today I put it off to complete grades for report cards, which are due on January 7. I guess I will take them down tomorrow. Got to get into the mindset that vacation is over.
