Go for it! I teach 5th and trust me when I say that they still want to be kids! Mine don't have a problem with any assignment, center, decoration, etc... that I do! No kidding - they think it's cool that you're still willing to do "fun" things with them. If you want to start it off by asking how many of them like Nascar, it might show what your intentions are. Then you can explain how each decoration represents what you have. I do centers with mine every Friday and that's their favorite day!
