losing a student by parent request
By carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I had the same experience once with a second grader. A boy was promoted to second grade and became a student in my class. He could neither read or write. Don't ask me how he got into second grade. That was one of the great mysteries of that year for me. Mom insisted that the boy had a "personality conflict" with me, so he wasn't learning. She demanded that the principal move him from my room to another teacher's room. He still couldn't read and write in the other teacher's room, but at least I didn't have to deal with her anymore.
