Wish I had your presence of mind--we're all proud of you!! Frankly, her comment about going back to being a sub is funny. Having done both, I find it is much easier to keep a classroom in line when I am their consistent, evey day, no surprises teacher. As a sub it was different every day and they knew I was gone at three, so it took a lot more skill to control the class. Some classes take it as a personal challenge to mess up a sub, so I am thankful for the subbing experience to prepare me for good classroom management.
