mad minutes By firstgradeteach

We use Mad Minutes in many grades at our school. Although it really is a minute in the upper grades, I would suggest a longer time limit, such as 3 minutes. Some first grade teachers even allow their children to use number lines and grids as they become more accustomed to the "Mad Minute" process. The easiest way to keep track is to have a spreadsheet with names down one side and the page numbers across the top. Then, just record the day on which they passed that page and allow them to move to the next level at that point. Hope this helps!
