I have used that one as well. Who ever wrote it, is great. My class was as motivated as yours, and they loved it!

Writing is our worse subject, and everyone always hesitates to get started. This inspired them to get motivated quickly, and they all finished.

Of coarse, there are that couple who still didn't want to do it, but after they thought about it, and found that it interested them, they began writing.

"The Mystery of Harry Burdick" is one that I have gotten all the teachers in my grade try. Nothing but great feedback has come of it.
