Why do I still teach?
By Jody

Clip to ScrapBook
Good question? I get really frustrated and sometimes am ready to walk out...like everybody else. At those times, I pull out the few letters I've received from parents telling me what I've done for their child. It makes all the difference in the world. I guess I stay to make a difference. I had a mother come in right after Christmas and tell me that her little girl told her I was the only teacher who had ever cared that enough to teach her how to read. (She's a third grader reading on a first grade level.) Hearing things like that make me stay.
