I do teach less and give the kids more free choice and activity time to get them done, I have had my ta read a story and use that time to assess a kid or two, I grab kids who finish their lunch early and get them, or if I get an inside lunch or recess due to weather I assess kids then, I have been desperate enough at times to pull kids in from outside at lunch for a minute to test. It is really tough to fit it all in so you do what you can and you do have to have less structured time.
