I've done it both ways. Sometimes I put everything right into the removable crock and put that in the refrigerator. Other times, especially if there's a liquid that might be absorbed by a solid ingredient, I'll just get everything together in a separate bowl then add the liquid in the morning when I transfer the recipe to the crockpot.

Either way, it is such a treat to come home to wonderful aromas of cooking food and know that all I have to do after a long day is set the table, make a salad and sit down with my husband to a home-cooked meal instead of take-out.
