I'm a first-year teacher and we're reading "Holes" in my fourth grade classroom. There are a lot of activities that I want to do along with the book, but I'm not sure how to get everything in or how long to spend on the book. For those of you who have used this book in your classroom, how long did you take to cover it? Last week we read chapters 1-7 and this week I'm assigning chapters 8-17. Does that sound about right? Also, if anyone has any ideas for activities, I'd love to hear them. Thank you so much for your help! J.O.
