Nip it in the Bud

It sounds to me like the deal has soured. Now, with the irreparable harm from not getting paid for services, it would be best to get out of there. From what is going on, the job references may also be harmed. The only good that can come from this is you being immediately re-instated as full-time full-salary full-benefits. I advise that you ask to be given permanent status with full salary and full health insurance when you tell them you are planning on quitting. If you are thinking on quitting, it is probably the right choice for you. I don’t see how the damage can ever be repaired.
