Wow, Jackie! I understand very much what you mean. Hardly any of the parents of my students seem to want to accept any responsibility for their children. That definitely is a problem. What I really hate are those parents who actually make excuses for their children's poor behavior or for not doing the things they should. I had a parent who sent me a note several years ago. It said: Please excuse Suzi for not having her homework finished. She was getting her hair done.

Too much responsibility is heaped upon us for negligent parents. If parents would just be parents, think of the wonderful children we could teach!
