I have one too

My third graders came from second grade knowing cursive well, but I have a move-in who came knowing only how to print. I sent the workbook home that this class used last year, with promises from mom and dad to work with him. Well, the year is half over and the practice pages are very hit and miss, and out of order. My advice, keep the book at school, give the page, illustrate the skill, make child show you a couple, and send it home as homework. Surprisingly, this only takes one or two minutes, literally. You need consequences ahead of time for when the WS isn't done. ("Nobody else has to do this...")
