volunteers

At the beginning of the year, I had parents sign up to volunteer on a weekly schedule. I have a parent that comes each day to volunteer in the classroom. I have them work with students, run copies, do bulletin boards, cut out things, etc. This worked pretty well, and the rest of the teachers do the same. We also send home a weekly connection. Our mascot is the dolphin, so we send home a "Destin Dolphin Connection" each Friday. This is sort of like a newsletter, but it focuses on issues for the school. Gives parents general school reminders, ask for volunteers, etc. It works really well, the parents look for it each week.
