literature studies

Clip to ScrapBook
I would like some ideas about extra activities to go along with literature studies in the classroom. I have decided to do the first Harry Potter book with my students for the rest of this school year, and aside from vocabulary lessons and some comprehension questions, what other kind of reading activity would be appropriate for my children to do on their own that goes along with the book? I have a resource room and will be doing this with 4-6 graders. There is a certain time during the day when they are not with me because I am a traveling teacher and they need some activities to do on their own or in partners. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
