Clip to ScrapBook
A number of years ago I had an elementary student absent one Monday morning and the other kids told me that he had moved. Well, I'd had no notification of that and neither had the school, so I figured they were mistaken. Sure enough, when I went to look in his desk the only things remaining were text books and school issued items. Not a single personal item was in there. We discovered later that the family had skipped town to escape some bills. The boy must have known on Friday that he was moving in order to have cleaned out his desk that carefully. I always felt bad about the lesson he had learned and wonder what ever became of him.
