Clip to ScrapBook
We switch for each subject also, plus I teach two math groups, two reading groups, and two social studies groups, as well as one language arts group. I find students are calmer if there is a warm up on the overhead as they walk into the room - plus they know they will be responsible for the work being done as I use some of these questions on my quizes and tests.

Also I have been known to stop right in the middle of a lesson and give a pop quiz - since I assume that if students are talking they must already know the material - nothing like a nice big red Zero that must be signed by mom and dad to get the message through!
