Soc. Studies for GAT student
By Kathy

Clip to ScrapBook
Why don't you encourage her to read some of the Dear America & My Name is America journals or American Girl books? They are historical fiction that deals with different aspects of American history. There are also the Royal
Diary hist. fiction journals with childhood biographies, example Elizabeth I. I'm sure your local library or bookstore would carry these items. (you can also buy them on ebay) She might also like BrainQuest games. Also www.funbrain.com has "famous person" matching games. An example is "Who is That?", dealing with presidents & "Where is That" states & capitals, etc. Of course the state
standards for Kg-grade 1 are going to be more along the lines of learning about community & family, being a good citizen, etc. Congratulations on her desire to learn!
