ice, too
By Kim C

Clip to ScrapBook
I used to do a unit on ice for Ii. I added in eskimos and Alaska to the unit and anything cold. "Inuit" people for eskimo theme. I read "Mama Do You Love Me?" which has some great voacabulary to go with the theme. I also have abook called Aunt Lulu about a librarian in Alaska that delivers books to the miners by dogsled. The kids like the repetitive listing of the dog names in the story. You can do experiments with ice by letting the kids estimate how long it takes for an ice cube to melt or where in the room it will last the longest. etc. What happens to water in the freezer? What takes up more room water or ice? Good luck.
