part time job By Chicago Teacher
|
| When I first started teaching I worked flexible evenings and weekends as a receptionist at a car dealership. I worked 4-9 twice a week and then every other saturday 7am-5pm. Even though it made for some long days, it wasn't that bad because it was really a pretty mindless job - sales closed at 6pm, so from 6-9pm I basically just waited for people to come pick up their cars from the service department. They didn't even care if I did grading while I was sitting there! (If I finished the things the office manager left for me to do.) In the Chicago suburbs, I made $11/hr. doing that -- not too bad! Plus, in the summer, I was able to increase my hours.
