stars equal marbles
By Tara

Clip to ScrapBook
hi,
I'm a second year teacher and what seems to work for me as a class incentive is to earn stars. I have 5 stars on the board. The class loses stars if they don't follow directions, are too talkative, etc. At the end of the day, however many stars they have, then earn in marbles. i have a marble jar that is visible to all students. when the marble jar is full we have a game day or a movie day. i give them 45 minutes of one afternoon. This seems to be working for me. The class also earns extra marbles for extra good behavior. About 50/60 marbles fill the jar, so they really could have a party at least once a month.
