Clip to ScrapBook
My first year of teaching I had a blind student in my 7th grade Language Arts class as well. There is a way to get worksheets/notes translated into Braille. I would have my worksheets/materials ready the week before I planned on using them, and the parent would translate the materials for me.

Does your building/district have a sped department?

I will try to find out how the parents did this and post back. Just wanted to let you know now that there is a way to include this student.

Does this student have an IEP plan or a 504 plan? If so, your mentor teacher better learn to differeniate the curriculum quickly. It is unfortunate that so much of this student's time is wasted.
