My first three years of teaching, I never did lesson plans. I would jot things down here or there but I did not have to turn anything in. I felt that it did not make me less effective, that was just the way I worked. I was very creative and many times I structured my lessons according to how my kids reacted. I would reteach or try something else when something would not work. Now I'm at a new school were it takes me 3 to 5 hours to do my lesson plans per week. Its funny cause I have to write out all these lesson plans and most of our math and language arts is scripted! Now I'm just bitter and I have no creativity left in me.
