silent lunch
By Kiki

Clip to ScrapBook
Silent Lunch is a BIG punishment for our kids. In my class it is "silent in the halls or silent during lunch. Your choice." My kids know that if they want to interact with their friends that lunch is the time to do it. I feel this way: Our kids do not get recess, they aren't allowed to talk in class unless it about the topic. They cannot talk to anyone in the halls. Social skills are a very important part of the development for this group and they deserve a time to practice them. Until our school implements recess or another time for socialization, lunch is the only chance they get.
By the way, we have very few problems in the cafeteria and teachers only serve lunch duty once a week.
