Where did you hear this stuff?

Hi,

Ashley, I hope you take my comments in the right heart. I think the other posters gave you great advice but the underlining question is a philosophy that has been with us in education for a while now, since the advent of Sesame Street. The idea that we have to be competent educators, counselors, nurses, psychologists, innovators AND entertainers is quite a heavy burden. I shudder at the thought that we need to dress like circus entertainers or else be thought of as dull teachers. I think a lot of teachers search out fun ideas and THEN try to match it to their curriculum (sometimes it doesn't!). Please strive for excellence in teaching, knowing the content and curriculum and THEN think of how to convey it in an interesting manner.
Connie
