We're studying speed & velocity in class and during lab today the students were assigned the task of building ramps for a matchbox (?) car race. They were to build it from any usable material in class. So as a way of getting things off to a good start, I was going through a closet and pulling out old boxes, posterboards, etc. As with students, I eventually became pinned in by the crowd. I could hear one voice from the back saying "I didn't get any. I didn't get any." So without thinking, I pitched...the sizable box landed squarely "over" his head. The class roared, I slipped sideways off the stood in shock and embarrassment. I made my way over to him and gently lifted the box off...to find him with a wide grin plastered across his face.
