I did a unit with 2nd graders when I was student teaching. We did centers. One was dinosaur memory. I made 2 memory games. One was herbivore memory and one was carnivore memory. The kids had to match the dinosaurs. Tyranasaurus to Tyranasaurus etc. I had pictures and the names of the dinosaur on each card. I also did 'Where in the World are the dinosaurs' The kids colored the different areas that different dinosaur bones have been found on a map. In another center the kids looked up dinosaurs in books..they wrote the dinosaurs name, drew a picture and wrote one fact about the dinosaur. They used childrens books and encyclopedias to get the information. Can't remember the other centers, but hope this might spark something for you!  Heather
