I hate that teaching cannot pay your bills. I hate that you have to work such long hours. But, more than that I hate that you have to feel concerned about what your principal or community members think about your waitressing job. DO NOT EVER be ashamed/ embarrassed, whatever for doing what it takes to care for your children and family. I think that people "out there" will understand and certainly your principal will. He/she knows what you get paid. I admire you.

As far as second-guessing yourself at school, I do it all the time. In college my professors called it "reflecting" (OOOOHH) and it was a requirement with each lesson. I was trained to do what you are concerned about. Next year will be better, and the next...
