parent complaining
By terry blakely

Clip to ScrapBook
for many parents of "gifted" there are egos to stroke.have you a system of grading that carefully explains how each paper is to be graded, and how it fits into the scheme of things? i don't want to appear_itchy, but if each parent and child fully understand the hows and whys you used to grade, then they can try to understand more.Is this a middle or high school?.Are there any
points or rewards for the first honors? Did the student ever make a"b" before? Has the mom made conferences, or just dropped in? Do yourself a favor. Call her at work or at home at 'her' inconvenien ttime, but be very sweet and ask what can you do to help her child bring up his grade.Chances are, the kid is miserable because his mom has talked to you. .
