BANG!
By Karen

Clip to ScrapBook
I play a game with my first graders called BANG! Take an old gift bag or box and jazz it up with the word BANG. Put about 10-15 sight words on note cards and write the word BANG on about 5 cards (Again, jazz it up:, throw them all in the bag. In groups of 3 or 4, put the bag in the middle of the group and have one child pull out a card. If they can name the sight word, they can keep it. If not, the group says it and it goes back in the bag. The objective of the game is the first child to earn 5 cards wins, however, if a child pulls out the word BANG, everyone's cards go back into the pot. It is really great for sightword practice and the kids love it. Good luck!
