getting parents involved
By my experience

Clip to ScrapBook
Well, we have found out that if their kids are doing something, then they will show up to see it. So, we have decided to let each grade do a SMALL presentation (song, artshow, etc.) each PTO meeting. We have found that
our clientele wil show up if there is food. So we have done a Chili Supper, Spaghetti Supper, and will do one more before school's out. During the suppers, the principal does a short presentation/talk to try to get them involved. We are now having more parents come to academic pep sessions, to read to students, or just volunteer to cut things out for teachers. It is slowly but surely
happening for us. One other thing is a teacher stays (being paid) 2 nights a week to have the computer lab open so parents can have access. This has been good!
