3rd Grade
By shelley

Clip to ScrapBook
I taught 5th grade for 4 years before being asked by my principal to move down to 3rd. At first I was very hesitant, because I did not want to start over on my curriculum. I also enjoyed 5th grade very much. After talking
with other 3rd grade teachers, I decided to go for it. I am very glad that I made the switch. Eight and nine year olds are a great age to teach. Most of them are willing to give you 100%, which you sometimes don't get from older students. You can do a lot of activities with 3rd graders that older kids will think they are too old for. In 5th grade I had kids who were starting to
get the teenage attitude. I have been in 3rd grade now for 6 years. The only things that I miss about 5th grade are the curriculum, especially social studies and the independence level of the kids.
